Tyler Posey as Scott McCall -Werewolf-
Scott McCall is the main protagonist of the series. In the series’ pilot, “Wolf Moon”, Scott is Bitten by Alpha werewolf Peter Hale, which transforms Scott into a werewolf. He begins a relationship with Allison Argent, a new student whom he later discovers to be part of a werewolf-hunter family. Scott lives with his mother, Melissa McCall and has a part-time job at Beacon Hills Animal Clinic as an assistant to the veterinarian Alan Deaton, whom is like a father to Scott. Throughout Season 1, with the help of his best friend, Stiles Stilinski, and a mysterious werewolf, Derek Hale, Scott struggles to control his transformations, balance his high school life with being a newly turned werewolf and keep his loved ones safe from the complications and dangers his new life presents. He gains success controlling his transformations using thoughts of Allison as an anchor to his humanity, realizing he is in love with her.
Scott is extremely protective and caring of those he loves. He is good natured, determined, sharp-witted and has a very clear sense of right and wrong, but he can let his emotions get the best of him. In the Season 1 finale, Scott and Allison solidify their love for each other after Allison finds out he is a werewolf and realizes he was only lying to her for her own good. In Season 2, Scott and Allison are very much in love, but their relationship is strained by Allison’s parents forbidding them to be together and later, by Allison’s violent behaviour because of Gerard’s manipulation and her mother’s death. Originally, Scott saw his new status as a werewolf as a curse and wished to find a cure, but by the end of Season 2, after Allison and Melissa accept his new life and become closer to him, he now sees his werewolf powers as a gift to defend and save people and doesn’t believe in outright killing his opponents. After Allison apologizes for her amoral actions, they break up because Allison needs space, but the two still care deeply for each other afterwards. Scott also becomes close friends with fellow werewolf Isaac Lahey after he realizes Isaac has good intentions and doesn’t have anyone there for him and helps Scott defeat Gerard and save Jackson in the Season 2 finale.
In the Season 3 premiere, Scott gets a tattoo of two bands around his left upper arm with Derek’s help. He sees the mark as a reward for having let Allison go. In the episode “Currents”, Deaton confirms that Scott has the potential to be a True Alpha, a rare werewolf that can gain Alpha status purely by strength of character and sheer willpower rather than by dominance, conquest or killing – such an Alpha is the rarest of all werewolves. In the episode “Alpha Pact”, Scott temporarily sacrifices himself with Stiles and Allison using a Druid ritual to save their parents from being sacrificed as Guardians for the Darach, Jennifer Blake. In the mid-Season 3 finale “Lunar Ellipse”, Scott and Derek, along with Deucalion, defeat the Darach, and Scott fully awakens his True Alpha status. Scott also begins to refer and consider his close friends as his Pack. Scott later learns his biological father, Rafael McCall is back in town, to his and Melissa’s ire, as he’d left the family when Scott was only a toddler. As a result of his Druid sacrifice, Scott now carries the burden of having a darkness around his heart like a scar. Scott is hurt when Allison and Isaac develop a romantic relationship but he is not angry with either of them and tries to come to terms with it. Scott starts a new romance with Kira Yukimura after learning she likes him and she is also supernatural, a Kitsune. When it’s realized Stiles is possessed by the Nogitsune, Scott is determined to separate the Dark Kitsune from Stiles without his best friend dying. In “De-Void”, Scott and Kira share a kiss after she promises him they’ll save Stiles. Scott uses an Alpha’s power to meld minds and enters Stiles’ mind with Lydia. Because Stiles is a part of his Pack, Scott uses an Alpha’s roar, allowing Stiles to break free of the Nogitsune. In “Insatiable”, Scott and Stiles manage to find and rescue Lydia, but Allison has been fatally stabbed by the Oni. He tries to save her life by taking her pain, but can’t. Allison comforts him saying she is in his arms, it’s perfect, and that she loves him. Allison dies. Scott tearfully kisses her forehead. In the Season 3B finale, “The Divine Move”, Scott defeats the Nogitsune with an Alpha’s Bite, as the Dark Kitsune can’t be both a Fox and a Wolf. At the conclusion of Season 3B, Scott moves on with his life mourning Allison.
In Season 4, Scott is trying to come to terms with Allison’s death. He initially has his romance with Kira on hold in order to cope, but eventually Scott gives in to his feelings for her, resuming their relationship. In “Muted”, Scott is forced to Bite freshman lacrosse player Liam Dunbar to save him from falling off the hospital roof, gripping him with his fangs when he’s attacked by the wendigo Sean Walcott. Initially feeling guilty and horrified, Scott subsequently takes Liam under his wing in helping him adjust to being a werewolf and protecting him. Scott vows to stop the assassinations on the Dead Pool. However, upon learning Rafael killed the assassin “the Chemist” saving Stiles’ life, Scott begins contemplating should he resort to killing his opponents. In “Monstrous”, when protecting Satomi’s Pack, Scott saves the youngest member Lori from an assassin, but moves in to kill the man out of rage. This action triggers a transformation into a more beastly shape, but after the assassin surrenders, Scott stops at the last minute, and the Dead Pool is shut down. In “A Promise to the Dead”, Scott and Kira go on their first date, but they are ambushed by Kate. They are both taken to La Iglesia, where Kate transforms Scott into a Berserker. In the Season 4 finale, “Smoke & Mirrors” Scott, as a Berserker, follows Kate’s orders and faces off against his friends. Liam, Maila and Peter almost kill him, but he is saved by Stiles and Kira. Liam, as his Beta, reaches Scott, and he breaks free of Berserker form. Once free, Scott confronts Peter, having figured out the murderous werewolf along with Kate had orchestrated the entire plan to have him killed. Peter subsequently shows his true colors, to have Scott killed for power. The two battle fiercely, with Peter telling Scott he’ll have to kill Peter if he wants to beat him. When Peter threatens Liam, Scott triggers new superhuman strength, effortlessly defeating Peter without killing him.
